WHY DO PEOPLE OVER REACT ??!

The Need Of Overreaction

OVER REACTION.
How do you define it scientifically or psychologically.
What is it ? Why people over react ? What is the need of it ?
These questions were prodding on my brain for a while now.
Recently ,I finished a book by Paulo Coelho THE ZAHIR.
It answered the last question and explained the other two for me..

Over reaction has a stigma surrounding it. Society consider it bad..whenever they see someone over reacting to something , they prefer to ignore them and later avoid them altogether.. It worsens the situation.

Overreaction is directly related to TRUST.
A kid always cries loudly in front of parent only.
So if someone over reacts in front of their colleague or friend, that means they trust them enough.
Sometimes over reaction is the reaction that didn't came out when it should may be because we were too little ,or naive or just too shocked to fathom everything that instead of tears and shrieks something got buried inside.
And after growing up anything that has a slightest connection to that reaction or when we finally understand what happened to us, it comes out and feels like
over reaction to the ones who doesn't know your past.
To sum up: over reaction is always the past reaction the didn't occurred.

THE NEED OF OVERREACTION:
In THE ZAHIR , PAULO talks about emptying the space occupied by pains of the past and opening up to new experience. To reborn and become a better version of your ownself.
For that, talk about your past to the ones you trust and to the strangers until the story no longer hurts , it's no longer the part of you. It's just something that happened. And you are no more affected by it.
It Talks about freeing yourself from THE PRISON OF YOUR PAST..

So, we only overreact in front of the ones we trust , and it's important to free us from our own prison.

My advice : if someone trusts you enough to overreact in front of you, don't tell them anything , quietly listen ,They are pushing open that door , they are finally breaking the shackles.
If you interrupt and tell them, THEY ARE OVERREACTING.
the door will shut on their faces and they will be trapped again.

My prayer:  I hope and pray you all find the one who will listen to your rambling infinite times and hold your hand through it and when you are done the drape their arms around your shoulder and whisper in your ear that you are the strongest person they know and it's okay to breakdown.
Cause all of us deserve to be free.

Note: there are still a lot of aspects I haven't talked about and I don't know about.
I want to convey the message
"Over reaction is not something wrong . it's the sign that something is wrong"

Excerpt from a book : LIKE THE FLOWING RIVER

LIKE THE FLOWING RIVER BY PAULO COELHO

Like the Flowing River, 2006 - Selected Thoughts and Reflections by Paulo Coelho

I want to be some one capable of seeing the unseen faces,
of seeing those who do not seek fame or glory, who silently fulfill the role life has given them
I  want to be able to do this because the most important things that shape our existence, are precisely the ones that never show their faces
As the Japanese poet Mitsuo Aida reminds us about importance of innocence in his poems

Because it has lived its life intensely
the parched grass still attracts the gaze of passers-by.
the flowers merely flower,
and they do this as well as they can,
the white lily, blooming unseen in the valley,
does not need to explain it self to anyone;
It lives merely for beauty.
Men however can not accept that 'merely'

If tomatoes wanted to be melons,
they would look completely ridiculous.
 I am always amazed
that so many people are concerned
with wanting to be what they are not;
what is the point of making yourself look ridiculous

TO CONCLUDE:

You don't always have to pretend to be strong,
there is no need to prove all the time that everything is going well,
you shouldn't be concerned about what other people are thinking,
cry if you need to,
it's good to cry out all your tears
(because only then will you be able to smile again)
